Text message opt-in
Calltide · operated by 101167022 Saskatchewan Ltd., Saskatoon, Saskatchewan · calltide.ca
Who sends the texts
Calltide is crew scheduling software for event staffing companies. Each company uses Calltide to schedule its own event staff. Texts go from Calltide's number to that company's staff, and each text names the company it is from.
The texts are about work shifts only: availability requests, shift offers, schedule changes and cancellations, shift reminders, the staff member's personal schedule link, and one-time codes to confirm their mobile number. No marketing or promotional messages are ever sent, and nobody is texted who isn't on a company's staff and hasn't opted in.
How staff opt in
- The company adds the staff member in Calltide. The staff member gets a personal set-up link by email.
- On their set-up page they choose Text message as how they want to be contacted and enter their mobile number.
- They tick a checkbox agreeing to the wording below. Texting is optional: choosing email instead still gets every scheduling message.
- Their number is confirmed with a one-time code before any other text is sent.
The date and time they agreed, the exact wording and the internet address they agreed from are recorded.
Consent wording
Shown on the set-up page next to the checkbox, with the company's own name in place of [Company]:
I agree to receive work scheduling messages from [Company] — shift offers, schedule changes and reminders — by email, and by text message if I choose texts. Message frequency varies with the event schedule. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts, or HELP for help. I can also change how I'm contacted, or stop these messages, at any time from this page or by telling my manager. Messages are delivered through service providers in the United States, so my name, email address and phone number pass through their systems.
How staff opt out
Reply STOP to any text. Because all companies on Calltide text from the same number, STOP stops texts from every company on Calltide; the person gets one confirmation, and keeps getting their scheduling messages by email. They can also switch to email on their set-up page, or tell their manager. Reply START to begin texts again, or HELP for help.
